About Director Mrs. Ruth Hilgers Carruthers
Ruth H. Carruthers
She later worked as office manager in Chicago for her brother, Thomas G. Hilgers, a general contractor, from 1934 till 1947, when he discontinued the business and retired. She then joined the staff of the Neological Society in Bangor, Michigan, in 1948, and married Dr Hugh Carruthers on May 11, 1953. Mrs Carruthers resided in Libertyville, Illinois, with her sister and niece. Since 1960, she was Director of The Hugh G. Carruthers Foundation and The Theological Science Society, International.
She worked at the TSS Headquarters in the USA till the age of 93 years, when she responded to infinite summons. Before her death, she handed over the responsibilities at the TSS Headquarters USA to her niece, Rev Ann Schmitt, who then became the 2nd Director.
Apart from writing the introduction to Dr H.G Carruthers Monthly Chats, which was distributed to Members worldwide, her greatest achievement was writing the 291 page book: Dr Hugh Greer Carruthers - His Life and His Teachings in honor of our Founder.
